Control wheels are used in centreless grinding operations. The job of the control wheel is to regulate the rotation speed of the component and keep the correct amount of pressure against the grinding wheel or belt. Also the rake of the control wheel can be adjusted to control the through speed of the component.
The vast majority of control wheels for centreless wheel grinding machines are rubber bonded abrasive, however in certain applications they can be resin bonded abrasive or in some rare applications they can be vitrified abrasive.
Centreless belt machines normally use nonabrasive rubber wheels, which can be plain or grooved. These are usually on aluminum hubs. In addition to supplying complete wheels, we are able to offer a re-covering service for nonabrasive rubber wheels.
