Spiral Bands & Cartridge Rolls
Spira Bands are small sized abrasive cylinders internally reinforced with cloth. They are fitted on a spindle mounted slotted rubber drum which expands when it spins holding the band in place. They are used for the deburring and finishing of internal surfaces of cylinders, pipes and moulds and other confined spaces.
The materials spira bands are mainly used on are steels, steel alloys, non ferrous and plastics. The popular grains available are Aluminium Oxide and Zirconia in grit sizes from 36g (coarse) to 180g (fine). Common sizes range from 10mm to 100mm diam.
Cartridge Rolls are lengths of abrasives cloth wound around a spindle to provide a layered deburring product. The rolls can be supplied parallel or tapered. They are used in small and intricate spaces for metal removal and surface preparation.
Popular diameters range from 6mm diam to 25mm diam, and lengths from 20mm to 40mm. All cartridge rolls are manufactured in aluminium oxide and are available in a variety of grit sizes.
The cartridge rolls are mounted onto a spindle which is then fitted into a drill attachment. They can also be used by hand.
